Description
3,3′-diaminobenzidine (DAB) is an organic compound and a member of the class of biphenyls. DAB is chemically and thermodynamically stable derivative of BENZIDINE whereby one of the hydrogens ortho to each of the amino groups is substituted by an amino group. It is a peroxidase substrate and a reagent for spectrophotometric determination of selenium. DAB is also used for the immune-histochemical and immunoblotting staining of nucleic acids and proteins. It is also considered as a potential carcinogen.
