ZELLX® DNA Polymerase I is a high-purity prokaryotic DNA polymerase derived from Escherichia coli, designed for DNA repair, nick translation, second-strand cDNA synthesis, and DNA labeling applications. This multifunctional enzyme exhibits dual enzymatic activity, performing both DNA polymerase and exonuclease reactions, which enables efficient DNA synthesis, gap filling, and repair of damaged DNA templates.
The enzyme combines 5′→3′ DNA polymerase activity with 3′→5′ and 5′→3′ exonuclease activities, making it particularly well suited for nick translation–based labeling workflows. In these applications, ZELLX® DNA Polymerase I ensures uniform incorporation of fluorescent or radioactive nucleotides, producing consistently labeled DNA fragments for downstream detection and analysis.
ZELLX® DNA Polymerase I is purified to high homogeneity and is free of detectable endonuclease and RNase contamination, ensuring reproducible results in sensitive molecular biology assays.
