Description
Camptothecin (CPT) is an alkaloid compound which exhibit anti-tumor activity. It is a DNA-topoisomerase I inhibitor which prevents DNA relegation that results in DNA damage and subsequently induces apoptosis. Camptothecin is first isolated from the bark of Camptotheca acuminita (a traditional Chinese medicine used for cancer treatment) in 1966.
