Description
CHES (2-(Cyclohexylamino) ethanesulfonic acid) is an alkanesulfonic acid and a zwitterionic buffering agent widely used in a variety of biochemistry and molecular biology applications. It is cyclohexanamine whereby one of the amino hydrogens is replaced by a 2-sulfoethyl group. It is a buffer (pH range of 8.6-10.0) used for studying pH-dependent processes in enzymatic processes above physiological pH.
