Description
Nalidixic Acid is a synthetic quinolone and antibacterial agent which acts against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. However, it is mostly effective against gram-negative organisms that cause urinary tract infections. Nalidixic acid inhibits DNA synthesis during bacterial replication in a dose-dependent manner via interfering with DNA gyrase activities.
